Quality Control Manager, X-LAM USA

Position Description:

The Quality Control Manager at X-LAM USA develops, implements and manages quality control systems designed to ensure continuous production of IB MAX-CORE materials and applications (consistent with established standards, specifications and production goals). The QCM provides overall supervision of quality control and assurance for ground floor operations. This position is responsible for executing the strategic operations plan that includes checks and balances of production, equipment operation, safety protocol, government regulations compliance and quality control. Specifically, the areas of focus are safety, production, maintenance and quality. The primary functions of this role include monitoring safe and efficient production flow, monitoring production quality, equipment and machinery operations management, and general administrative management as necessary.

Position Type

This is a full-time, exempt position.

Responsibilities

• Inspect production to ensure the equipment is maintained and the manufacturing process is compliant.
• Ensure a high level of customer service and investigate customer issues and complaints relating to quality.
• Supervise workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure high productivity and high technical integrity.
• Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and to establish quality and reliability expectancy of finished products.
• Provide technical and statistical expertise to teams.
• Formulate, document and maintain quality control standards and on-going quality control objectives.
• Coordinate objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other plant managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
• Create, document and implement inspection criteria and procedures.
• Interpret quality control philosophy to key personnel within company.
• Oversee inspection activity for products and equipment throughout production cycle.
• Interact with vendors and the procurement team to ensure quality of all purchased equipment, materials and parts.
• Create and direct environmental test functions and applications.
• Design, develop and implement quality control training programs.
• Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment and initiate replacements or repairs as needed.
• Perform routine ground floor inspections and cross reference analysis with personnel.
• Develop policies and procedures for the efficient use of materials, machines and personnel.
• Work with multiple departments to ensure continuous improvement of internal processes.
• Enforce company policies, plant organization and housekeeping cleanliness among personnel.
• Implement personnel orientation and training to ensure proper operations and safety protocol.
• Draft reports that detail specific quality control and improvement metrics for executive team.
• Responsible for managing certifications and working with the appropriate parties to ensure compliance.

Skills and Qualifications

• At least 5 years of management experience in a fast -paced, multi-functional environment.
• Knowledge of the lumber industry required, EWP experience preferred.
• Confidence, responsibility and a mature attitude within the workplace.
• Possess a strong attention to detail and efficient organizational skills.
• Ability to complete detailed written records and reports.
• In depth knowledge of plant operations and quality control and assurance procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to concentrate in high pressure situations.
• Ability to effectively communicate with multiple departments and IB team members.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and a minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience.

Production Manager, X-LAM USA

Position Description:

The Production Manager at X-LAM USA is primarily responsible for the overall supervision of ground floor operations as it relates to plant production and shipping processes. This position develops and executes the strategic production plan that includes full-cycle operation of production, equipment, shipping, and supervision of production personnel. The PM monitors safe and efficient production flow, plant workforce management, inventory management, production quality, equipment and machinery, acting as a direct contact for manufacturing, shipping and distribution processes. This role requires evaluating production performance and production costs, along with general administrative management as necessary.

Position Type

This is a full-time, exempt position.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise production personnel including evaluating job performance and enforcing safety rules and regulations.
• Carry out all aspects of the production planning and execution process including creating schedules.
• Inspect production to ensure the equipment is maintained and the manufacturing process is compliant.
• Oversee shipping processes including deliveries and outgoing loads to ensure maximum productivity and accuracy of shipment to customers.
• Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment and initiate replacements or repairs as needed.
• Prepare production planning budget forecasts for management and executive team.
• Perform routine ground floor inspections with Quality Control Manager and issue reports when necessary.

• Provide production direction, development and leadership to mill team members.

POSITION: Wood Structural Engineer, X-LAM USA

Type: Full Time, exempt position

Position Description:

The Wood Structural Engineer at IB X-LAM USA will be responsible for design of wood and mixed building material structural systems.

Candidates must have a strong working knowledge of engineering mechanics, building structural systems and codes. Candidates must possess the ability to communicate directly with owners, architects, contractors, other design professionals and building officials. Candidates must be proficient in CAD and structural design software.

Qualifications:

• Wood structural design experience
• Engineer in Training (EIT), Professional Engineer (PE) certification or willingness to acquire
• Knowledge of design analysis software such as REVIT, RISA
• Proficiency with AutoCad, Cadwork and/or other computer aided design (CAD) software
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook applications.
• Familiarity and ability to read and understand architectural/structural construction plans

The CAD Designer/Estimator at IB X-LAM USA is primarily responsible for the design and estimation of cross laminated timber (CLT) and glulam members for use as structural components of a building. This position is responsible for the accurate design of CLT and glulam for estimating as well as production. This role requires accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:
